Al-Khwarizmi Lab is part of the College of Information Technology and Computer Engineering.
Location: Building C, third floor, hall C316
Established: 2000
This laboratory is used to teach the practical components of various general courses, notably the Computer and Programming Basics course. This course covers essential skills for using operating systems, editing, presentation, and spreadsheet programs (such as Microsoft Office), as well as skills needed for email and e-learning platforms. Additionally, it includes basic programming skills.
The laboratory also supports specialized courses for college students, such as advanced programming, and courses for other colleges, such as design courses from the College of Engineering and Technology.
Furthermore, the lab is used for the English language placement exam at the beginning of each semester and for online exams for both general and specialized courses across all university colleges. It also hosts educational and training workshops and prepares students for competitions like the ACM and other local and international contests. University clubs, such as the Google Club and Code Club, also hold competitions here.
The laboratory covers a broad spectrum of competencies and skills essential for students and trainees:
